What exactly do Joint, Nearby, and Neighborhood boundaries mean?

These titles define how broad you want your Direct Message communications to be based on your adopted block location.

  • JOINT: Blocks can now be adopted by TWO individuals, forming “Joint” Block Ambassadors, to support cleanup efforts.

  • NEARBY: “Nearby” Ambassadors are within 275 yards radius – roughly 2-3 blocks in any direction of your block(s).

  • NEIGHBORHOOD: “Neighborhood” Ambassadors are within your defined neighborhood (via GIS mapping) or defaults to your specific zip code.

Why are there red hearts on the Heat Map now instead of red dots?

  • We updated our map design to better reflect the fact that now TWO people can formally adopt a block rather than just one person. This will double our capacity for volunteers and allow for a more robust cleaning cadence.

  • A full red heart = a fully adopted block (2 people)

  • A half red heart = 1 person has adopted the block, with room for one more person
